24x30x13. Pen and Ink, Bristol Board, Pine wood, Particle Board, Iron, Paint, Rubber Tracks, Spray adhesive, Lacquer, stain.
This piece is based on the series of pen and ink drawings. The drawing is done by hand on bristol board. It is without a doubt the most intricate drawing of this kind I have done. I wanted to showcase the drawing but also bring movement and an interactive quality. So, the drawing was adhered to particle board which had previously been stained to match the stained wood of the base. This is then mounted to a 1" dowel which is fed through the base and connected in the back via two rubber tracks (like large black rubber bands) to the handle which can be turned in the front. The effect is that the handle in the front can be turned and the drawing will spin. It turned out beautifully. I then made a strong base to support it and there you have it. Hope you like it.
